Hello everybody!
I'd like to invite You to really special event. Event that's uniqe, event that will test your abbilities deeply and foremost event that will be funny, jolly and just cool.
So if You either don't want to be stuck at home with your parents or don't go to church, You can join us!
Maybe You're just wondering what is that astonishing and sensational event - answer is easy. On sunday(19th October) we will fly a kite.
Who? - You, me and whole bunch of our friends.
Where? - In Zlin of course.

We will meet in the square of peace in front of McDonadl's (so You can buy something to eat if You like, also Billa and KFC is nearby).
The time will be specified later, but I think about 11am.
To take with You:
=> Your own kite (you can do it yourself our buy it)
=> good warm clothes (You can always take it off)
=> some extra weight (so you won't fly away)
=> some snack (so you can share with me ;), etc. etc.
=> AND THE MOST IMPORTANT - LOT OF YOUR FRIENDS AND GOOD MOOD

If the weather won't be good we can do anything else we would like to.
If You have any questions, suggestions just write me :)

Greetings! I realise most of you have not met me, but my name is Peter McDermott and I am the current Member Committee Vice President of Exchange Delivery (the closest thing to OGX we have).

I’m writing to you to offer you two great opportunities in November.

The first is the opportunity to be a FACILITATOR at the Outgoing Preparation Seminar (OPS)! This two day conference from the 22 – 23 of November is aimed at preparing Czech Interns before they head out on their own exchanges, so you would be supporting others who are having the same experience as you!

The second opportunity is as a delegate in the Intern track of our Fall Conference. The Intern’s track will be run from the 1 – 2 of November. The actual conference goes starts on the 30th of October, and you are of course invited to this as well, however we are aware that you all work and taking days off during the week just isn’t an option for many of you.

You will find attached the application for facilitating at the OPS. We don’t mind how much experience in AIESEC you have, what we’re looking for is understanding about how best to prepare for an internship experience! Please return the application by the 20th of October

You will also find attached a questionnaire about the Fall Conference – that’s right, the Intern Track will be based on what YOU want to do! It asks whether you will be attending and what you want to do there. Please return this questionnaire by the 8th of October

You are of course encouraged to apply for both opportunities.

as many of u know.. i am leaving to Colombia ... i will leave tomorrow tuesday to prague.. and then on wednesday to madrid.. and on thursday to Bogota.. long trip jejeje...

Hi guys,

I am back with some useful news for you!

1. Our shool starts 15.08.2008 so from this time you can expect all AIESECers back in Zlin. There will be more fun/parties and also regular LC meetings, so be ready to join us!

2. Many people from the Czech Republic left for International Congress in Brazil, so for example all MC people are out for 14 days (15.8. - 3.9.) and also our LCP Jitka is now in Brazil - Sao Paulo.

3. As every year - we have two conferences for new coming students at university. Its going to be two weekenda before our school starts - 5.-7.9. and 12.9.-14.9.2008. Please be ready, LC will need you to support our recruitment, so you can be part of this conference - its really cool event, no strict agenda. Just fun with first-year students. More information has Honza.

4. In autumn there are two vawes of recruitment - Exchange Participants and Newies. If you want to help your host Local Committee to get more people, please contact Lenka and Honza.

5. First trainee girl is coming to Olomouc. Olomouc is one of the "brothers" LCs and it is only one hour by train from Zlin. If you want to visit Olomouc or ask her to visit Zlin, please let me know, I can give you contact. Lets start some trainees sharing and visits!

so please give people information ..cs sometimes u just call or write some minutes before the things are happening and not everybody is free all the time..

As we have already written, we plan the trip to Ceske Budejovice - South Bohemia. We will go by cars and travel around there - we will visit castels, graffiti mines, ...etc... 1) In the beginning of July will come two CEEDers to LC Zlin - one boy from Ghana and one girl from Turkey - they will live at Mavi´s flat as the rest of EB and AIESEC people, who will work here during summer...
2) If you remember Nar - our EP - he was matched to Romania and now he is already on the way there...Congratulation!
3) Maria and Nadya from Russia has some problems in the ambassy, so nobody knows, if they will manage to come on time... (July)
4) Sarah has moved to Uhersky Brod, so she is not living in Zlin anymore :-(
5) Next week there are bachelor exams for Jitka, Mojco, Mirka and other brave people, give them support ;-) They are studying hard...

she is really coming! She will live in the same apartment as Maria was living - so its the building at TGM, where Chucks is working. She is coming from Prague on Friday evening, I suggest to meet her somewhere in the pub...but...I will be working this time (multi complex cinema at the main square), so if you wanna meet her, please contact Lenka - she will pick up Sarah. Hello,
finally, I also get to visit this pretty information center. I am doing fine here in Germany.
Currently, I am working on my bachelor-thesis which I will finish this semester (hopefully). My future is kind of uncertain as I don`t know, yet, what to do after my bachelor. Sure thing, I want to do my master, but at the moment, I consider to go to France for some time to learn French. Of course, I bear in mind to come back to Zlin for a visit as soon as I have time. I am really looking forward to meet all my dear trainee-colleagues and all the fantastic Zlin people again. I really had a great time with you and I often think back to Cz-times.

I miss you guys.

It`s nice to keep in touch through this blog.

As you are not adding anything about your life in Zlin, I have to share with you everything, what I know...
So abour Eddie - he has already sent his application for PhD studies at university, so he applied for next year to study here. Wish him good luck. He has sent two applications - one to economic faculty and one to IT faculty. All studies are in English for 3 years!

About Chucks - at OPS he has lost his mobile again :-) Thats why all our EPs (4) were searching for it and skiped the agenda! I suggest not to give to Chucks any mobile anymore... :-)

There were lots of interns coming different places from Czech Republic and different countries..Romania, Gana, China, Brazil, Mexico, Ukraine..:) it was really good to know that we had the same feelings almost the same problems same experiences..it feels u that u r not alone:) we had shared lots of things not only with interns but also EP's from CZ...

- Sarah is coming in 10 days to Zlin!
- OPS is over and it was really great, I asked Cigdem to write something more about it here, so I hope she will do that!
- Maria is leaving back to Russia - just for applying for new visa, so she will be back in two months.
- The exam period in Zlin has already started :-( We are all studying like a hell...

OPS brings together these three groups of people:
- Exchange Participants (EPs) – students and recent graduates who were recently selected to go on Exchange, and were inducted into AIESEC by the local committees.
- Interns – students and recent graduates from abroad who are currently on Exchange in the Czech Republic.
- Returnees – experienced EPs who recently came back from Exchange and are now in the phase of re-integration.

The conference fee:
- for interns coming from Local Committees under AIESEC in the Czech Republic is CZK 200.
- is to be paid in CZK (Czech Crowns) during check-in.
- covers pre-arranged bus connecting Pardubice main train station with the site (both ways), accommodation and food on the site.

Please, be aware that the agenda of the conference starts on Saturday at 1000 (CEST) in the morning. The OC has arranged buses to take the delegates from Pardubice main train station to the site. These buses are to leave Pardubice at 845 that morning. These buses will not wait for any late-comer as we cannot allow for the agenda to start late. If you cannot make it for the 845 buses, then you will need to arrange your own transportation to the site. Same buses will be taking the delegates back to Pardubice main train station on Sunday, leaving the site at 1500.

New schopping center opening

As you probably now, guys, there will be opening of new shopping center in the main square in Zlin. This event is planned on 16.5.2008 and there will be many things to see. The name of new shopping center is Gold Apple - there will be multi-cinema, more than 75 shops and restaurant, coffee, bar,... Everything you need to be satisfied :-) On Friday the program starts at 17.00 by the concert and at 21.30 there is a movie, at 21.00 at the square there will be firework. On Saturday and Sunday there is also some program in the shoping center and outside.

If you are not attending OPS - which starts 17.5. just go there, it will be really great!

Last LC meeting

on Monday 12.5.2008 there will be the last LC meeting in this semester. From next weeks there is exam period, so not so many people from LC will be available all the time. If you want to see for the last time all people from LC Zlin (next LC meeting will be again in September, when school starts), please come and party with us ;-)

International movie festival in Zlin

In dates 1.6. - 8.6.2008 will be in Zlin 46. International movie festival for children and youth. Its really coool event, all movies are for free and it takes all day long. There are many places, where are movies, most of them are in English! These movies are mostly from abroad - last year it was from Finnland, Sweden,... Some news from last days:
1. Adam was elected as MC VP in Slovakia! Congratulation!!!
2. There is bye bye party for Peta/Petula/Barbara/Tina in Prague - 28.5.2008 at 19:00. There are leaving to Holland/Qatar/Hungary/Argentina for AI/MCP/CEE GN/MC VP.
3. There is music festival coming on 2.-6.7. near Olomouc - its really big for more than 10.000 people. We are going there as organization committee - join us!
4. Two CEEDers are coming during summer - from August till September. We have application from China, Italy, Ghana, Russia.
5. New corporate for LC Zlin will be soon. If you have any idea, please contact EB.
6. I am back from Belgium trip - it was really cool, you can check my photos on lucito.rajce.net or at Facebook.
7. We have finally 5 EPs going abroad this spring...

GLOBAL VILLAGE

Hallo everybody! What do you think Global Village may be?
Well, it is a "one-day multicultural festival", the presentation of foreign countries to the citizens of Zlin during Zlin Film Festival:) And you can take part of this:)
You can offer samples of your traditional meal, teach the visitors words in your language or even traditional dances :-), share experiences etc. (you can see more how Global Village looks like here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uev3UBIA16U .
You will get to know many interesting people from all around the world :-). You can learn about their countries. Enjoy a lot of fun!

This is Eduardo Vejarano, a Latin-American guy from COLOMBIA in Europe more specific in Czech Republic, first of all I want to say i didn't know anything about this country before coming here, and of course being in front of the question "Where should i go? "is not easy, however i made the decision to come here because i wanted to know a different culture from mine, to learn another language, a language different than Spanish or English and in the end with the idea of "Having fun " on my mind, and until now my expectations have been fulfilled.

Since the beginning i was worried about everything, and with everything i mean everything, starting for example with the weather cause i hope you know in Colombia we don't have seasons and we are always between spring and summer, so it was the first shock culture here, and even this is not so big deal for people from other parts of the world, for me it was interesting point to have winter season then spring, summer and autumn, second point worrying me was the culture but in the end this was the purpose of my trip out of my country so being worried i think was only the way to express the anxiety of knowledge and new experience.

Czech Republic is a country full of traditions coming from different countries as part of their history, a country full of places to visit and full of party and enthusiastic people. It's a small country, however the atmosphere here is really good, it's a country not so much attached to religion but as far as I can see people here is really attached to their traditions. I live specifically in ZLIN one small city in the south east part of the country and even it's not so much big cause it has around 100.000 inhabitants i feel comfortable and safe here, this is a city not so old but it's surrounded by lots of places full of historical events and buildings so it's not so difficult to make small tourist trips during a weekend inside and outside the country and that is another good point and I think one of the best things from Zlin, the ubication, cause it's so close to other known cities of Europe like Budapest, Vienna and Bratislava without forgetting Prague the capital of the Country, and the options for traveling by bus or train are good cheap and enough.

Here I found lots of places and different things to try, starting from food and drinks, and even though the people is not as happy as Latin people and more specific Colombian people, they are friendly, open and interested about other countries and traditions so i have been learning from here and showing them my country.

Being a small country can be taken as a problem, but since the beginning i change the point of view of this situation, cause for me it's an advantage if you want to know and travel around, another important thing is the cost of living here is cheaper than in other countries of europe which is another good point if you want to travel around and you want to know as much as possible like I wanted, Until now i have been knowing new things and places and getting many friends and expanding my contacts network. i came to Czech Republic and i got experience which is one of the most important things and for me it's being growing up in personal, professional and so many different ways. Now i have so many experiences to tell my friends and family when i go back to my country and the only thing worrying me is to enjoy the last months of my internship and keep having fun as i have had since the beginning.
